Burials
We are very fortunate in this area to be able to have local burials.
Burials can be arranged for most churchyards (e.g. see St Bartholomew's Lower Cam
Churchyard) or local council cemetery, including:
- Dursley Cemetery
- Slimbridge Cemetery (managed by Slimbridge Parish Council but closely aligned with
Slimbridge church)
- Berkeley Cemetery
- North Nibley Cemetery
- Wotton-under-Edge Cemetery
- Eastington Cemetery
- Stroud Cemetery
- Coney Hill Cemetery, Gloucester
- Old Cemetey, Gloucester
- Thornbury Cemetery
- Almondsbury Cemetery
Alternatively a Woodland Burial can be arranged, our nearest being the Memorial Woodlands
in Latteridge near Bristol.
Can I be buried on my own land?
Be it a garden or farm - you can be buried on your own land without the need for
planning permission but there a number of considerations that you should be aware
of. You should contact the Environment Agency, consider future plans for the land,
e.g. what would happen if the house was sold and complete the relevant paperwork.
